Halloween was great this year. We had nice weather and the girls got TONS of candy. Emma went as a purple crayon (yes, I did make the costume) and Julia went as Dorothy (we forgot to bring Toto!). I included pictures of Emma's volleyball practice. She loves it. Even though she is little, she is a great defensive player and serves well. Their team has lost one game so far this season.

The Punkin Patch

This weekend was beautiful. We had a blast at Kruger Farms Pumpkin patch. We got lost in the corn maze, found great pumpkins, pet some pigs and topped off the day with caramel apples. It was a blast.

Julia's Princess Party and Back to School

Julia's Princess Party was lots of fun but I did not get very many pictures because I was entertaining 10 six year old princesses! The cake turned out well and tasted better!!!

The first day of school 2008.

Julia played with friends on the playground after school. It was a beautiful day!! We are looking forward to a great year!!! Summer passed too quickly as always. The girls grew a ton. As you can see, Julia is catching up to Emma!!! More news later...........

More Vancouver BC

Vacation in Vancouver BC

We have had a blast so far in Vancouver. Vancouver BC is a beautiful city..sort of combination of Seattle and San Francisco but with breathtaking views of the mountains. We have had a great time so far exploring the Aquarium, Stanley Park, suspension bridges and Granville Island. More pictures later...

Here comes the sun!

Summer has finally reached Portland, Oregon. We were getting a little grumpy with the weather this Spring! The girls have been in camp at their school and have been loving the more relaxed schedule. Emma is inspired by her friend Maggie to read as much as she can. It is nice to see her enjoy reading books.

We decided our life was not exciting enough (I must be crazy!), so we have adopted another kitten. His name is Max (Sax). The girls named him. He has already made friends with Bogart and Nellie. We have a full house to say the least.

Dave has been studying for his board exam. He has to re-certify every 10 years. Can't believe it has been that long. I received a grant for a research project which is very exciting...a little change from clinical work.

All in all, we have had a nice start to summer.....more later!

Kindergarten favorite songs

School's out for summer!!!

I have decided to jump on the blogging band wagon and post updates about the girls for the summer. We started off summer with a bang. Julia graduated from kindergarten June 12th. The ceremony included all of the children reciting nursery rhymes with props. It was very cute! She did very well in kindergarten and is reading well. We are so proud of her.

Emma had a great third grade year. It was our first year of standardized tests and we were quite surprised (and more than a little pleased) that Emma scored in the 94th percentile nationally in SCIENCE! We may have a little scientist after all! She had her gymnastics show yesterday. She will continue gymnastics in the summer and next year.

Today is Father's day and we have a family hike planned. We hope to have some sun. It has been a very rainy spring.

More adventures to come.....
